Purpose Struggles: Coach Chris on the Microcast

I recently had the honor of joining my coach (TJ David) on our weekly call that he turns into a podcast. We have been exploring where we see our athletes struggle with purpose. The question being "What problems do you see your athletes or other trail runners express when they struggle to find meaning and purpose in their lives and in their running?"

I want to include his list of examples here, but make sure you listen to what coach Zoë says about the problem with this question.

Many athletes struggle…

1) After a big accomplishment, when they realize they are still the same person they always were, or recovery takes longer, or they can't figure out what is next..etc..

2) When an athlete doesn't get a result they wanted, "I wanted to WIN not get 2nd!"

3) When on the training plateau and tangible progress is less obvious

4) When dealing with a long-term injury or a non-linear recovery from injury

When do you struggle with purpose?

I'm always looking for more ways to be a better companion in the midst of this work!
